As part of the 2020 technical examination process on adaptation (TEP-A), several volunteer expert organizations developed a series of policy briefs relevant to this year’s theme of Education and training, public participation and youth to enhance adaptation action. This series of briefs is intended to offer policymakers, researchers, practitioners, and other interested readers various lenses through which to view the overarching topic of the 2020 TEP-A. They delve into different facets of education and training, and youth and public participation, highlighting key messages and recommendations focusing on how to enhance adaptation action in these various areas.
Additionally, many of these policy briefs feature case studies from around the world that highlight how innovative initiatives and good practices are being deployed on the ground to advance engagement in and action on adaptation.
These policy briefs complement the discussions that have been taking place through this year’s technical expert meetings on adaptation. As appropriate, these briefs will also serve as inputs to the technical paper to be produced by the UNFCCC secretariat as part of the 2020 TEP-A.
