Thiago de Araújo Mendes Thiago has a PHD in Sustainable Development and currently serves as the Secretary-General of the Environmental Agency of the Federal District of Brazil (Brasília Ambiental). He is the former National Secretary on Climate Change and Forests from the Ministry of Environment of Brazil. Thiago served as Chair of UNFCCC Consultative Groups of Experts (CGE) and Co-Chair of the interim Executive Committee of the Warsaw International Mechanism on Loss and Damage. He has extensive experience with projects of sustainable development and climate change adaptation in Brazilian and in international institutions, private sector, academia and non-profit sectors.
